Kia expands its Sportage lineup with the new Sportage Tri-Fuel.
- The new Kia Sportage Tri-Fuel debuts, combining the HEV engine with the addition of LPG power.
- Unique technology and class-leading performance: 237 hp and 380 Nm of maximum torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in under 8 seconds.
- Overall range of over 1,500 km, but reduced running costs thanks to LPG, with up to 650 km available for around €40.
- Technology developed thanks to the historic partnership with Westport Fuel Systems Italia.
- New: launch of the new Black Edition version.
Kia Italia further enhances the offering of one of its most successful models with the launch of the new Sportage Tri-Fuel Full Hybrid LPG, an advanced technological solution that combines gasoline, LPG, and a full hybrid powertrain in a single package, capable of combining efficiency, performance, and economy.
The new Sportage Tri-Fuel is the result of a long-standing collaboration between Kia Italia and Westport Fuel Systems Italia and represents the evolution of a technological project first introduced on the Kia Niro in 2024, now further refined to bring an even higher level of technology and performance to the Sportage.
The Tri-Fuel system combines a turbocharged gasoline/LPG engine with the proven full hybrid system, creating an extremely balanced powertrain capable of combining low emissions, reduced fuel consumption, and driving pleasure, all supported by high standards of reliability and a significant reduction in running costs.
In terms of performance, the Sportage Tri Fuel is at the top of its class: total power reaches 237 hp with a maximum torque of 380 Nm, values essentially unchanged from the original HEV version. These figures allow for acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 8 seconds, confirming its uncompromising dynamic character.
One of the new Sportage Tri Fuel’s key strengths is its operating economy. The cost of LPG allows for significant savings when refueling. For around 40 euros, you can fill the 65-liter LPG tank (52 liters net), achieving a range of up to 650 km in LPG mode. Added to this is a total range of over 1,500 km, significantly greater than that of a traditional diesel engine.
The Kia Sportage Tri Fuel Full Hybrid LPG strategically complements the Sportage range, offering customers a practical, efficient, and technologically advanced solution for everyday mobility.
Design: the watchword for Sportage Black Edition
The main new addition is the Sportage Black Edition, a new special edition that expands the offering with a strong design focus.
The trim features exclusive gloss black exterior elements, including the Kia and Sportage logos, grille accents, mirror caps, roof rails, and dedicated 19-inch alloy wheels. Privacy windows and the option of a contrasting black roof with a power-operated panoramic sunroof further enhance the premium character, particularly when paired with the Wolf Grey color.
The new Ivory Silver Matte paint also debuts, available for the first time on the Full Hybrid range.
Interiors
The Sportage Black Edition cabin offers a modern and elegant ambience, with dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays, a black headliner, and dedicated seats in black Kia Tex Delight, a combination of artificial leather and suede. Further enhancing the level of comfort is the intelligent opening tailgate.
